This exhibition showcases recent work by the faculty members of the UTEP Department of Art. Jan. 24 – Mar. 22. Numinous Space.
William Helm explores the human response to the landscape through architecture and design. The exhibition features drawings, models, photographic and film studies for a theoretical project located in Chaparral, NM. Helm’s design proposes a series of structures that offer total immersion in the existential phenomena of the dessert experience. Helm’s architecture, and his careful documentation of the process, invites the viewer to an individual and spiritual experience of the dessert, a contemplation of the landscape and humankind’s place within it.
